Peak and off season: When to get the best deal

When it comes to the weather, Dallas is best enjoyed during the balmy months of spring and autumn. With moderate temperatures, there’s no better time to enjoy the many parks and gardens, festivals and cultural events. Even when days are unseasonable cool or rainy, there are many indoor activities to enjoy such as the Sixth Floor Museum, the Dallas Aquarium and Dallas Museum of Art. Peak travel times are around major holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and for these dates, travel should be booked in advance if possible. Flying into an alternate airport like Dallas Love Field can also help reduce the cost of flights. There are several low-cost airlines using this smaller, close-to-downtown airport. Summers are scorching and this is usually the time to find great Dallas holiday rates and fares. While summer is generally a busy travel time, most holiday travellers are heading to cooler climates.
